EHS Superintendent – Aluminium Smelter (Brownfield)

urgent requirement for EHS Superintendent – Aluminium Smelter (Brownfield) is required for clients in Sohar, Oman

• Strong experience in Smelter-Specific Hazard Mastery is THE Must 
• Strong experience in High Amperage (Magnetic Fields) and Molten Metal safety is the MUST
• Strong experience in Brownfield Smelter Operations- aluminium smelter projects is THE MUST 
• Strong experience in Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and Job Risk Assessments (JRA) for high-risk industrial tasks is MUST

EHS Superintendent, reports to Project Manager

ü    - Crafts Health and Safety policies and procedures for the whole project in coordination with Operations EHS including emergency procedures and in accordance with local legislation

ü    - Develops Environmental Management plan

ü    - Ensures project compliance with relevant legislation and local laws

ü    - Defines accountabilities and ensures project compliance with EHS standards and procedures

ü    - Conducts Job Risk Assessments

ü    - Develops emergency response plan

ü    - Conduct training sessions for employees on safety practices and promoting culture of safety awareness. Develops programs to support employee health and wellness

ü     

ü    Role Requirements

ü    - Knowledge of international and Omani EHS regulations

ü    - 10+ years experience in industrial safety (hot metal handling, high-voltage/amperage systems, heavy equipment)

ü    - Experience in brownfield construction inside an operating aluminium smelter

ü    - Ability to develop and implement site-specific safety plans

ü    - Ability to conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations

ü    - Ability to conduct training and awareness programs for workforce/Contractors

ü    - Develop Emergency response planning and coordination with Smelter and local authorities
