Position Title: HSE Auditor - Solar PV Plant
 
Role Purpose:
 
The HSE Auditor is responsible for evaluating and verifying compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements during the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational phases of Solar PV plant projects. The role ensures adherence to applicable regulations, client requirements, industry standards, and company HSE management systems while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and report HSE audits and inspections for Solar PV plant construction and commissioning activities.
  • Assess compliance with project HSE plans, procedures, permit-to-work systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify implementation of HSE controls related to civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning activities.
  • Audit contractor and subcontractor HSE performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Review risk assessments, method statements, job safety analyses (JSAs), and emergency response plans.
  • Identify non-conformities, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and environmental risks.
  • Prepare audit reports and track corrective and preventive actions to closure.
  • Monitor compliance with electrical safety requirements, lockout/tagout (LOTO), working at height, lifting operations, excavation works, and energized systems.
  • Participate in incident investigations and verify implementation of corrective actions.
  • Evaluate environmental compliance, including waste management, spill prevention, dust control, and resource conservation measures.
  • Conduct follow-up audits and effectiveness reviews of implemented corrective actions.
  • Provide HSE guidance and recommendations to project management and site teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and HSE performance monitoring.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Certified HSE Auditor with recognized qualifications such as ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant HSE auditing experience in construction, energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  • Proven experience in the construction and commissioning of Solar PV plants or similar utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of HSE management systems, auditing principles, and applicable regulations.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety requirements associated with Solar PV generation systems and substations.
