PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Health, Safety and statutory compliance
- Ensure Compliance to Honeywell corporate & business requirements and local legislation (tracks changes, reviews/modifies local procedures to comply). Addresses roles and responsibilities, advises all HSE action owners as needed.
- Directs the coordination of all health and safety related activities, including monitoring of workplace environments throughout the countries of oversight
- Ensure site HSE activity comply with Honeywell & local government requirements
- Responsible for relevant external / Internal HSEMS certifications.
- Establish and maintain communication with Honeywell, local government and other regulatory authorities.
- Conduct new equipment reviews, implement and maintain processes to enhance HSE, perform site and OLRS audits, management of change and full adherence to HSEMS.
- Develop & maintain Emergency Response plans.
- Report Tier I, II, III to Regional HSE Leader for MST entries
- Investigate site accidents/injuries with Investigation team and complete Root cause analysis.
- Maintain HSEMS compliance including Service & Projects, and office sites and warehouses as required and support other team members as necessary
- Implement and communicate to Leadership team for any development in processes, standards, policies and procedures as necessary to promote the well-being of employees and prevent hazardous and/or unsafe work conditions.
- Provide HSE related training to all employees.
- Educate employees on HSE issues and/or oversees the education/communication efforts
- Conduct audits and inspections as per corporate requirements, maintain evidence book and complete modules in MST (Online HSE system tool).
- Update & Maintain Common Balanced score card (KPIs), HSE Metric entries MST i.e. SOS, Near-miss reports, exposure hours and actions closures.
- Assist for external audits and execute the internal audit activities; provides written reports of findings; takes necessary corrective measures; follows-up on implementation.
- Serves as the Functional HSE representative at governmental and/or association meetings as required.
- Provides technical direction/guidance to staff.
- Interacts with leadership team and various external representatives (i.e. regulatory, trade professionals, customers).
- Maintain schedule and conduct weekly HSE Gemba safety walks, if applicable.
- Maintain yearly legal compliance calendar.
- Plan and conduct Monthly HSE meetings.
- Maintain monthly Playbook communications and maintain Playbook safety tier meeting
- Competence in industrial standard for testing, commissioning and installation and maintenance projects.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Participate in and support in emergency preparedness drills, and promote consistent processes across sites.
- Attends scheduled Tier meetings with HBT Regional leader(s).
- Ensure the HSE practices for HOS compliances (where applicable).
- Self-evaluates own organization (e.g. Maturity Planning). Escalates deviations. Drafts and facilitates improvement plans as appropriate
- Supports incident investigation activities, root cause analysis, corrective action identification and closure. Works closely with leaders to measure and communicate HSE performance. Monitors trends and champions injury/illness reduction. Directs the organization in management of emergency conditions and containment actions.
- Implements environmental management processes, including waste, and pollution prevention.
- Implements HSE risk review and aspects and impacts.
- Serves as liaison with third-party vendors and regulatory agencies.
Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
- Minimum Bachelors or higher degree in Safety but preferably in Engineering (electrical, chemical, mechanical etc.)
- NEBOSH International Health and Safety IGS certification
- Industry certification should NEBOSH not apply
Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience in the health, safety and environmental field, including key aspects of the role, Risk Assessments, Hazard Identification, Audits, Compliance checks, inspections, incident investigations and contractor management
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience conducting and leading internal audits and implementing HSE management systems.
