Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced HSE Officer with NEBOSH certification to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance within a manufacturing or steel plant environment. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and local statutory regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments within the plant.
- Monitor hot work, confined space entry, lifting activities, work at height, and heavy equipment operations.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and employee awareness programs.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
- Maintain HSE documentation, permits, inspection records, and incident reports.
- Ensure proper usage of PPE and compliance with safety procedures.
- Coordinate emergency response drills, firefighting inspections, and evacuation procedures.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance at site.
- Support environmental initiatives including waste management, pollution control, and sustainability practices.
- Liaise with government authorities and auditors during inspections.
- Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety standards.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Industrial Safety, or related field.
- Mandatory NEBOSH IGC certification.
- Additional certifications such as IOSH, OSHA, First Aid, Fire Safety, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor will be an advantage.
- Minimum 3-7 years of HSE experience in Manufacturing / Steel Plant / Heavy Industry.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and industrial hazards.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations effectively
