Description

Job Purpose:

Develop HSEQ strategy for Chemical fleet, convert strategy into plans and processes in compliance with HSEQ regulatory standards. Drive adherence to policies, work on continual improvement and implement best practices. Secure compliance and necessary accreditations for Bahri and work closely with local and global HSEQ regulatory bodies.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Ensure effective cascading of the functional strategy into department business plans for vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departments/units.

  • Manage the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes, and practices, considering leading standards, productivity improvement, and cost reduction.

     

Performance Management

  • Ensure that all department reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet Bahri’s requirements, policies, and quality standards.

 

People & Leadership 

  • Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through the leadership of the department by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating staff to maximize performance.

 

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Develop and recommend the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.

     

Accreditation & Certification

  • Oversee the HSEQ management system for Chemical fleet and ensure standards are implemented in order to obtain certifications such as OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.

     

Compliance

  • Carry out periodic compliance reviews (HSEQ inspections / audits) in Chemical fleet in order to ensure consistent adherence to the HSEQ regulatory requirements and guidelines

     

Environment Sustainability

  • Maintain Bahri’s environment management program specific to Chemical fleet to ensure the appropriateness of the effectiveness of associated programs.

 

HSEQ Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of the HSEQ reports Chemical fleet and ensure the required details are included (e.g. incidents, inspections and audits).

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chief Engineer, or Master Mariner certificate or equivalent.

  • Master's degree in business management or equivalent is preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
