DescriptionMain Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSE and sustainability strategies, policies, procedures, and management systems in alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and organizational objectives.
- Establish and promote a strong safety culture by embedding health, safety, environmental, and sustainability principles across all operational activities.
- Lead the design and delivery of HSE training programs, including inductions, refresher training, leadership awareness sessions, and specialized safety programs.
- Monitor compliance through inspections, audits, safety observations, and performance monitoring across all operational areas.
- Oversee incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, ensuring effective root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures are implemented and tracked.
- Review and approve contractors’ HSE documentation, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and control of hazardous materials, and report and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Prepare, analyze, and present HSE and sustainability performance reports, KPIs, trends, and recommendations to senior management.
- Lead and support internal and external HSE audits, regulatory inspections, and certification activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on injury prevention, environmental protection, waste reduction, and resource efficiency.
- Support the organization’s sustainability and environmental objectives by promoting environmentally responsible practices and compliance with THC’s Environmental Policy.
- Actively identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact, improve energy efficiency, and promote sustainable operations.
- Ensure the health and safety of employees, contractors, visitors, passengers, company assets, and facilities.
- Collaborate closely with QHSE, operational, and support departments to ensure alignment with corporate quality, safety, environmental, and sustainability frameworks.
- Stay informed of regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging best practices, providing proactive advice to management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager in line with the role’s scope.
Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HSE team to ensure effective execution of responsibilities.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and identify training and development needs.
- Optimize team resources and workload to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of HSE objectives.
- Promote accountability, professionalism, and ethical conduct within the team.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all matters related to work and organizational information.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, Engineering, Aviation Management or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Professional HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO Lead Auditor) are desirable.
Experience & Skills
• Minimum 7 years of HSE experience in the aviation sector.
• Strong knowledge of GACARs and other (FAA/EASA/IS-BAO) related regulations.
• Proven experience in safety investigations, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, risk mitigation, and performance monitoring.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organized, process-driven, and results-oriented with strong ethical standards.
