We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining workplace health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
• Investigate incidents and accidents, recommending corrective actions
• Provide safety training to employees and maintain training records
• Ensure compliance with local and federal safety regulations
• Coordinate with management to address safety concerns and implement improvements
• Maintain safety documentation and reports
A day in the life
As a safety coordinator, your day-to-day activities would likely include the following:
Safety Inspections:
• Conduct daily walk through inspections of the facility
• Perform GEMBA walks to identify potential hazards and safety concerns
Safety Meetings:
• Lead or participate in daily safety briefings with teams
• Attend and contribute to regular safety committee meetings
Incident Management:
• Respond to and investigate any safety incidents or near-misses
• Document incidents in Amazon's Gensuite system
• Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions
Safety Data Management:
• Monitor and update safety metrics and KPIs
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
Permit to Work System:
• Review and approve daily work permits for high-risk activities

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
• Minimum 3 year of experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of UAE safety laws and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in English and Arabic
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent safety certification preferred
