Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer (HSE) to join the supervision consultancy team for a large-scale infrastructure development project located approximately 100 km north of Jeddah. The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards on site to ensure all construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with project requirements.



Responsibilities
  • Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on site.

  • Ensure contractor compliance with project safety plans, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure safe working practices.

  • Review contractor submissions including HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements, and safety procedures.

  • Monitor construction activities related to road networks and multi-utility infrastructure, ensuring safety compliance for works including:

    • Potable water networks

    • Firefighting systems

    • Gas distribution systems

    • Stormwater drainage and sanitary sewage systems

    • Power distribution (MV & LV)

    • Street lighting and telecom infrastructure

    • Irrigation and landscape works

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and ensure proper corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety awareness sessions, and safety training for site personnel.

  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

  • Maintain and prepare HSE reports, inspection records, and safety documentation as required by the project.

  • Coordinate with the supervision team and contractor to ensure continuous improvement of site safety performance.



Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in health and safety for infrastructure construction projects.

  • Strong experience in road and multi-utility infrastructure projects.

  • Previous experience working with engineering consultancy firms in a supervision capacity.

  • Good knowledge of international HSE standards and construction safety practices.

  • Strong communication, inspection, and reporting skills.
