Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Advisor - Safety, Health & Environment to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a strategic leader and trusted advisor, driving the development and implementation of comprehensive safety, health, and environmental programs across our organization. You will combine technical expertise with visionary thinking to ensure compliance with international standards and UAE regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain integrated safety, health, and environmental programs, systems, and procedures aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory standards, including comprehensive hazard assessments and risk analyses
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents with thoroughness and transparency, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions while monitoring workplace conditions to prevent occupational diseases
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to safety teams and operational staff, fostering a collaborative approach to EHS excellence
  • Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and UAE regulatory requirements, serving as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on EHS matters
  • Develop and deliver training programs on safety protocols, hazard recognition, and emergency response procedures to all organizational levels
  • Analyze EHS performance metrics and data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and track program effectiveness
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into business decisions and project planning while staying current with evolving regulations and industry best practices

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in safety, health, and environmental management within a corporate or industrial setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing EHS programs and management systems, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Strong knowledge of occupational safety regulations, environmental compliance standards, and UAE/GCC regulatory frameworks
  • Proven experience in incident investigation, hazard analysis, and risk assessment methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in EHS management software and data analysis
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, with capability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Experience with EHS auditing, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Advanced degree or additional certifications in Environmental Management or Occupational Health (preferred)
  • Experience in multiple industry sectors or international regulatory environments (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Middle Eastern business culture and regulatory landscape (preferred)

  • Proven track record in developing, implementing, and managing effective safety and health programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE and international SH&E legislative and regulatory obligations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent risk assessment and mitigation skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for SH&E management and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting inspections, reporting issues, and following up on corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with international SH&E standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Knowledge of local UAE safety regulations and standards.
  • Willingness to travel within the UAE as required for site inspections and audits.
