As a Senior Consultant in Fire Life and Safety, you will take the lead in designing fire protection systems, conducting inspections, and performing risk assessments for key projects. You will collaborate with clients, architects, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with both local and international standards. A strong understanding of the Saudi Building Code, especially SBC 201 and SBC 801, is essential
Responsibilities- Lead the design and implementation of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, suppression, and fire stopping systems across commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
- Oversee fire protection design activities, ensure compliance with Saudi and international codes, and conduct site inspections.
- Design fire alarm systems integrated into building designs and inspect installations during design and construction phases.
- Manage fire stopping audits and inspections to ensure compliance of materials and assemblies with fire safety requirements.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and hazard analyses, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Supervise integrated testing and commissioning of fire life safety systems to meet design and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical expertise and address client needs professionally.
- Drive fire life safety aspects during design and delivery, offering proactive solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote innovation in fire safety practices.
- Contribute to proposals, client meetings, and regional presentations.
- Represent the team at industry events and conferences, enhancing WSP’s thought leadership.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Architect, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
- 8–10 years of experience in fire life safety engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC 201 and SBC 801) and international fire safety standards (NFPA, IBC, BS, etc.).
- Expertise in fire protection, fire alarm design, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Certifications in fire protection (CFPS or similar) are an advantage.
