DescriptionSTRATEGIC
- Provide guidance on HSE legislation and corporate standards to project teams, management, and contractors.
- Conduct daily inspections, monitor incidents, prepare weekly, monthly, and yearly HSE reports.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and non-conformances; recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, DEWA/TRANSCO consultants, and client representatives to ensure HSE compliance on site.
- Allocate HSE resources, plan staff schedules, and ensure site HSE team efficiency.
- Ensure project Environmental Management Systems meet ADEHSMS, UAE regulations, and project-specific HSE plans.
- Develop and implement HSE programs, training, and site-specific procedures.
OPERATIONAL
- Integrating legislative requirements and corporate HSE standards into operational business systems.
- Changing site-level perceptions and attitudes toward HSE compliance.
- Managing multiple projects, stakeholders, and subcontractors while ensuring consistent HSE practices.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Lead, mentor, and supervise site HSE Officers to ensure efficient implementation of HSE policies.
- Conduct HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and workshops to raise safety awareness and competency.
- Monitor staff performance and recommend development or corrective actions as required.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning across project teams.
PRODUCT/PROCESS MOVEMENT
- Identify and implement improvements in HSE processes, reporting systems, and risk control measures.
- Recommend new tools, technologies, and procedures to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance.
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of implemented HSE initiatives and corrective measures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to align HSE performance with corporate and project standards.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Bachelors/Masters in Engineering (any discipline).
- NEBOSH IGC certification.
- First Aid and Fire Fighting training.
- OSHAD Registration as OHS Practitioner.
- DEWA approval as HSE Engineer.
- 10–15 years in HSE roles, preferably in electrical substation construction projects.
- Experience participating in client-organized meetings, conferences, and seminars.
- Risk assessment, incident investigation, reporting, and corrective action implementation.
