Safety Management System
• Manage the Safety Management System that monitors and ensures that GCAA ANS has a comprehensive safety management system in line with ANS strategic goals and GCAA Audit and Risk Management.
• Manage effective Safety Risk management to ensure hazard identification, safety risk assessment and mitigation.
• Manage effective ANS Safety Assurance to ensure safety performance, management of change and continuous improvement of the SMS.
• Develop and manage the implementation of an effective and comprehensive ANS Safety Training Program to ensure all staff is safety trained at the required level.
• Develop and manage the implementation of effective and comprehensive Safety Promotion to ensure dissemination and communication of safety-related feedback to all staff.
• Monitor and evaluate the SMS to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
• Lead or contribute to safety-related projects aimed at enhancing the overall safety performance of the ANSP.
• Ensure the SMS aligns with international best practices and continually benchmarks against leading safety standards.
Safety Risks & Recommendations
• Provide expertise to the ANS Safety Unit in the Safety recommendations resulted from reported safety occurrences.,
• Promote lessons learned across ANS 4 different function departments to maximize the benefit and ensure an accurate promotion of safety.
Policy and Procedures
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes, procedures, and systems.
• Draft, review and assess ANS Safety policies, procedures and operations manuals to ensure compliance with required regulatory requirements of safety standards / guidelines.
• Provide council and expertise to the Crisis Management Committee (CMC), draft and maintain emergency response and contingency plans, policies and procedures to ensure compliance to the international and local standards / regulations.
Safety Analysis and Investigations:
• Lead or participate in safety investigations following incidents or accidents involving air navigation services.
• Analyse data, gather evidence, and identify contributing factors to determine root causes.
• Develop recommendations and corrective actions to prevent recurrence of incidents and enhance safety.
Audit and assessment Programs
• Conduct regular safety evaluation assessment and internal safety audit programs in conjunction with ANA and take corrective action as required.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the SMS, identifying areas for improvement.
• Conduct follow-up activities to ensure that corrective actions from safety recommendations are implemented effectively.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
A degree in an aviation discipline or a verified CAA license with 5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
• Good knowledge and skills in safety audit, operations safety programs and safety standards & regulations.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest safety management trends and regulations.
• Experience with advanced safety management software and data analysis tools is preferred.
