ResponsibilitiesA key member of the project management team, the Site Safety Officer is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation of safety protocols across all phases of the project. This role plays a critical part in promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory and project-specific safety standards.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead and support the safety objectives and strategies of the project team.
- Champion a safety culture across all construction activities, reinforcing the principle that “Nobody Gets Hurt.”
- Oversee safety planning and execution for module fabrication, on-island construction, and onshore precast and module operations.
- Ensure contractors’ safety plans and execution align with project safety objectives, obligations, and requirements.
- Establish and manage the site safety organization, ensuring adequate resourcing and competency of safety personnel.
- Provide strategic safety support to the project team, including risk assessments and mitigation planning.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety policies and procedures for all contractors and subcontractors.
- Develop and steward an integrated safety plan for commissioning activities, including SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) and brownfield work.
- Review and support the implementation of contractor safety plans and procedures.
- Facilitate coordination between contractors, project entities, production operations, and drilling teams to ensure safe execution.
- Manage interfaces with ADNOC Onshore to ensure safe execution of brownfield works with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Ensure design deliverables support safe constructability and execution.
- Report safety performance, incidents, initiatives, and concerns to the project leadership.
- Lead safety planning teams to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and improvement opportunities.
- Sponsor safety-related readiness reviews, workshops, and Corrective Action Reviews (CARs).
- Mentor and support the development of UAE Nationals in safety roles.
- Communicate short- and long-term safety goals clearly to direct reports.
- Recognize and reward outstanding safety performance and ensure regular performance appraisals and development plans for safety staff.

Expected:
A bachelor’s degree in safety, health, environmental, technical, scientific, or related engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with minimum five ( 5+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including minimum two (2) years (preferred) in GCC region Shall have experience in preparing Health, Safety, Environmental Impact (HSEIA) reports and be fully conversant in QRA development.
