HSE Engineer

About the role

WSP is seeking an HSE Engineer to support maritime construction and supervision activities. The role is responsible for implementing, monitoring and enforcing health, safety and environmental requirements across marine and offshore operations.

Responsibilities

• Implement project HSE plans, procedures and controls.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety observations.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and follow corrective actions through to closure.
• Monitor permits, high-risk marine and offshore work, emergency readiness and environmental compliance.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and training.
• Prepare HSE performance reports and work with contractors and project stakeholders to improve safety performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental engineering or a related field.
• At least 13 years of HSE experience in maritime, offshore or marine construction.
• Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP or equivalent.
• Strong experience in risk assessment, incident investigation and auditing.
• Excellent English communication and training skills. Arabic is an advantage.
• Ability to work on offshore sites, meet medical-clearance requirements and travel when required.
