Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Engineer to join our team in Oman. The ideal candidate will hold a NEBOSH certification and possess 6 to 15 years of proven experience in managing HSE aspects of water pipeline projects and road construction projects.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with Omani regulations and international standards.

  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits for water pipeline and road projects.

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols at project sites, including excavation, heavy equipment operation, and traffic management.

  • Deliver HSE training and awareness sessions to employees, contractors, and subcontractors.

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.

  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and government authorities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of safety inspections, permits, and certifications.

  • Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Mandatory: NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum 6 years and up to 15 years in HSE roles within water pipeline and road construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Omani HSE regulations and international standards (ISO 45001, OSHA).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Familiarity with environmental management systems and sustainability practices.

  • Proficiency in incident reporting software and MS Office tools.
