Job Profile
The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management systems in line with OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards. Duties include risk assessments, incident management, regulatory compliance, and employee training. The role involves monitoring workplace safety, conducting audits, and promoting a proactive safety culture through continuous improvement and effective communication across the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, implement, maintain, and continually improve the health and safety Management system per OHSAS 18001/ISO45001 standard.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all health and safety legislation affecting the business.
  • Develop, review, and advise on Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) for operational activities submitted in the Permit-To-Work (PTW) system.
  • Conduct global and specific Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessments, considering mitigation in line with the hierarchy of controls.
  • Keep records of incidents and accidents, producing statistics and lessons learned for managers.
  • Support admin in conducting regular office inspections to ensure policies and procedures are fully implemented.
  • Lead training on HSE matters to enhance the organization’s health and safety skills.
  • Produce management reports, newsletters, and bulletins.
