Job Description: 

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team at our Kuwait location. The Safety Officer will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment, implementing safety procedures, and promoting a culture of safety awareness. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to preventing accidents and hazards.

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure safety measures align with operational needs.
  • Provide safety training and orientation for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and promote adherence to safety standards.
  • Conduct safety audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate safety guidelines and best practices to all levels of the organization.
  • Stay updated with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Participate in emergency response and evacuation procedures when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (X+ years) as a Safety Officer or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset to assess risks and recommend solutions.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving skills to address safety challenges.
  • Commitment to promoting a safety-focused culture.
