Job Summary:
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Safety Officer with a SARS-approved Safety Officer Certificate and relevant experience in implementing and maintaining Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards. The role involves ensuring a safe working environment, promoting compliance, and supporting continuous improvement of EHS programs in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and safety training sessions across the workplace.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed safety reports including near-miss reports, accident investigations, HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment), and Aspect & Impact assessments.

  • Enforce adherence to safety standards and ensure all employees comply with organizational safety requirements.

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment within the organization at all times.

  • Support the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of NAFFCO Group EHS programs.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.

  • Participate in EHS site audits, inspections, and routine safety surveys.

  • Assist in the preparation and drafting of audit documentation and reports.

  • Track corrective and preventive actions and monitor trends arising from audit and inspection activities.

Requirements:

  • SARS-approved Safety Officer Certificate (mandatory).

  • Proven experience in safety inspection, reporting, and training.

  • Strong knowledge of HIRA, incident investigation, and environmental aspect/impact assessment.

  • Familiarity with EHS management systems and compliance requirements.

  • Strong documentation, reporting, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and enforce safety discipline across teams.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.
