Job Description

  • Job Purpose

Execute safety initiatives, audits, and monitor day-to-day operations to ensure adherence to safety protocols by conducting incident investigations, maintaining accurate safety records, and contributing to the continuous improvement of safety management practices.

 

  • Position Accountability Description

Safety Procedures & Communication

1.        Contribute to the development of safety procedures and guidelines by providing feedback and suggestions, ensuring that all safety documents are thorough, reflect current best practices, and meet regulatory requirements.

2.        Communicate effectively with terminal and corporate staff about safety protocols, procedures, and updates, promoting a culture of safety awareness through clear, consistent communication and active engagement.

3.        Respond promptly to safety-related incidents and emergencies, contributing to emergency response efforts, providing necessary support, and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.

4.        Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, providing recommendations for improvement.

5.        Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety protocols into overall operational processes.

Inspections & Equipment Maintenance

6.        Regularly inspect safety equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any maintenance issues or deficiencies to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.

7.        Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

8.        Maintain accurate records of all safety-related activities for terminal and corporate facilities, including inspections, incident reports, and training sessions, keeping records up-to-date, well-organized, and easily accessible for review and analysis.

Incident Management & Compliance

9.        Assist in the development and maintenance of emergency response plans, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.

10.     Prepare for the investigation of safety incidents and near-misses by gathering relevant information, assisting in identifying root causes, and helping to develop and implement corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.

11.     Track day-to-day operations within the terminal and campus to ensure compliance with safety standards, promptly reporting any safety concerns, violations, or potential risks to management and stakeholders for resolution.

12.     Manage the integration of safety initiatives and new safety regulations and standards into the existing safety management system, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions to operations during implementation.

13.     Participate in safety committee meetings and provide input on safety management issues.

14.     Ensure compliance with safety standards across all aerodrome operations, alerting management and stakeholders promptly to any deviations or potential risks to ensure timely corrective actions and maintain high safety standards.

Emergency Preparedness & PPE Management

15.     Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) among staff.

16.     Participate in external audits and inspections, ensuring all required documentation and information are provided.

Training & Development

17.     Prepare and conduct safety training programs and drills to ensure preparedness for emergency situations, facilitating training sessions, encouraging active participation, and supporting continuous learning and improvement.

 

Record Keeping & Reporting

18.     Submit detailed reports on safety management activities, including audit results, incident reports, and compliance status, ensuring comprehensive reports are submitted on time to support informed decision-making.

19.     Assist in the preparation of detailed reports on safety management activities for senior management review.

20.     Develop and update standard operating procedures for safety management activities, ensuring clear, comprehensive, and current guidelines for all staff to follow.

 

  • Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

21.     Work collaboratively with team members by sharing knowledge, providing support, and actively participating in team activities, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Contribute to the development and tracking of KPIs to monitor individual and team performance.

22.     Pursue continuous learning by seeking feedback, attending training sessions, and staying updated on industry trends, enhancing personal skills and professional growth. Foster a high-performance culture by striving for excellence and encouraging peers.
