Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Advisor - Safety, Health & Environment to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a strategic leader and trusted advisor, driving comprehensive safety, health, and environmental excellence across our organization. Your expertise, analytical mindset, and collaborative approach will be instrumental in fostering a culture of safety while ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulations and industry best practices in the UAE and beyond.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously enhance organization-wide safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and programs that align with UAE regulations and international standards
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses across all operational areas, identifying potential threats to personnel, equipment, and the environment with meticulous attention to detail
  • Design and oversee robust risk mitigation strategies that effectively minimize accidents, health incidents, and environmental impacts while maintaining operational efficiency
  • Lead incident investigation processes, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement
  • Establish and maintain strong coordination with relevant regulatory authorities, government agencies, and emergency services to ensure seamless compliance and rapid response capabilities
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training and awareness programs to build a strong safety culture across all organizational levels, demonstrating empathy and inclusive communication
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to senior leadership with actionable recommendations for enhancement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, human resources, and project management to integrate safety considerations into all business processes and decision-making
  • Stay current with evolving safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of safety innovation and compliance
  • Mentor and support safety personnel and team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages proactive safety participation
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, work sites, and processes to verify compliance with established safety standards and identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop emergency response and business continuity plans, ensuring organizational readiness for critical incidents and crisis situations

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, environmental, or health and safety engineering) or equivalent field
  • Minimum 8-12 years of progressive experience in safety, health, and environmental management within a corporate or industrial environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UAE health and safety regulations, environmental laws, and international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or equivalent)
  • Proven expertise in risk assessment, hazard analysis, and development of mitigation strategies
  • Strong understanding of incident investigation methodologies and root cause analysis techniques
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and management systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex safety data and regulations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Proficiency in safety management software and data analysis tools
  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities with experience building and developing safety teams

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), or equivalent recognized credentials
  • Experience with environmental management and sustainability initiatives
  • Familiarity with UAE-specific regulatory requirements and Dubai Municipality standards
  • Background in emergency response planning and crisis management
  • Experience in training program development and delivery
  • Knowledge of occupational health management and wellness programs
  • Track record of successfully driving organizational safety culture transformation
